Adhesive mixture for tiling indoors and outdoors with ceramic tiles IQ Ceram

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Vamiut IQ Ceram mixture is intended for tiling concrete, brick, cement-sand and cement-lime surfaces with tiles with a water absorption of more than 1% (tiles made of ceramics, earthenware, etc.) and no larger than 40x40 cm in size. Vamiut IQ mixture Ceram is used on non-deformable, durable bases on the surface of walls and floors inside and outside buildings in civil and industrial construction.

When tiling with water absorption less than 1%, Vamiut IQ Gres or Vamiut IQ Flex should be used.

PREPARING THE BASE

The base must be dry and strong, without visible damage. Preparation of the base is carried out in accordance with DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013 and DBN V.2.6-22-2001. All uneven and weak areas of the base must be removed. The base should be cleaned of dust, dirt, biological corrosion, rust, sagging, oil stains and other substances that reduce adhesion. If necessary, the base should be leveled using the appropriate Vamiut TM products depending on the base material.

PERFORMANCE OF WORK

Measure the required amount of water into the working container (at the rate of 0.22 liters of water per 1 kg of dry mixture).

Gradually add the dry mixture from the bag to the measured water, while stirring the mixture using a low-rotating drill with an attachment. Stir the mortar mixture until a homogeneous mass without lumps is obtained. After stirring, leave the mortar mixture for 5 minutes, then stir again. The mortar mixture can be used within 2 hours.

The tiles DO NOT need to be pre-wetted!

Apply the prepared mortar mixture to the facing surface and level it with a notched trowel. Lay the tile on the applied mortar mixture with a slight (3-5 mm) displacement from the design position, and then, pressing the tile to the surface, shift it until the design position is reached.

The maximum thickness of the mortar mixture under the tiles should not exceed 10 mm. The teeth should be square and match the size of the tile. The recommended joint width between tiles is 2-4 mm. It is not recommended to lay tiles without seams using the “joint to joint” method.

Under normal conditions, the tiles must be laid within 10 minutes after applying the mortar mixture to the base. It is possible to adjust the position of the tile within 20 minutes after laying it on the base. Remains of the mortar mixture from the surface of the tile must be removed with water before it hardens.

Under normal conditions, jointing should be done after 24 hours. Vamiut IQ Fuga should be used to fill joints.

NOTE AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Work should be carried out at a base temperature of +5°C to +30°C and relative humidity up to 80%. All instructions and recommendations described in this description can be effective at a temperature of +20°C and a relative air humidity of 60%. In other conditions, drying time may vary. On bases with expansion joints, the latter must be duplicated in the cladding system. When performing external work, a combined gluing method is used to fix tiles, namely: the mortar mixture is applied to the base with a notched trowel, as well as to the back side of the tile in a continuous layer about 1 mm thick. In addition to the above information about the use of the product, when working with it, you should be guided by the current regulatory documents. The use of the product does not cause any difficulties if the rules set out in this technical description are followed. For use under other conditions, you must carry out your own testing or seek advice from the manufacturer. Use protective equipment when working. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.

STORAGE

In original packaging, in rooms with a constant temperature from +5°C to +25°C – 12 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the packaging.

PACKAGING

Vamiut IQ Ceram mixture is packaged in 25 kg paper bags.

The manufacturer is not responsible for the incorrect use of the material, as well as for its use for other purposes and conditions not provided for in the technical description. From the moment this technical description appears, all previous ones become invalid.
